Can you install solar on a flat roof in Brooklyn or Queens?
Yes — flat-roof solar is a specialty at EnergiSense. Most solar installers skip flat roofs. For NYC outer-borough flat roof projects, we use the GAF Liberty membrane system. To qualify, a flat roof needs 10+ years of life remaining. We assess the roof as part of the site visit. If it needs work first, we quote a re-roof using GAF materials and bundle the labor.
Is battery storage available in NYC?

How does NYC DOB permitting work for solar?
NYC solar installations require New York City Department of Buildings permits in addition to the standard utility interconnection filing with Con Edison. The NYC DOB process adds time compared to suburban installations — typical total timeline is 8 to 14 weeks from signed agreement to permission-to-operate. We manage the DOB filing and Con Edison interconnection application as part of the project.
