Flat Roof Specialty
Flat roofs are common across NYC's outer boroughs — Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, Staten Island — and in many Westchester and Long Island commercial properties. Most solar installers avoid them. We don't. EnergiSense specializes in flat-roof solar, using the GAF Liberty membrane system for NYC outer-borough projects and standard penetration-sealed racking for low-slope residential. To qualify, a flat roof needs 10+ years of life remaining (versus 15+ for standard shingle). If yours is close, we inspect it as part of the site visit and quote a re-roof first if needed.
Note: select towns (Floral Park, Lynbrook, Old Westbury) restrict front-facing panel placement. We account for this in the design.

We pull permits, file interconnection, handle the engineering stamps. Town of Hempstead and Oyster Bay typically under 60 days.

One day on the roof for most systems. Bundle projects run roof day one, solar day two. Electrical panel upgrades may extend the schedule if utility involvement is needed.

Final inspection, utility PTO, production monitoring via Enphase Enlighten or Tesla app — on your phone the same day.

If your shingles have 5+ years left, panels go up directly. If not, we replace the roof first — usually with the GAF HDZ — and bundle the labor so you only pay the differential. For flat roofs, we need 10+ years of roof life remaining.
